Du Façade or ("Of the Facade") is a short/feature-length film hybrid that discusses mental health in the LGBT community through honest, non-fictional narratives based on real-life events. The film focuses on real-life, personal interactions with individuals who struggle with their sexual identity and the self-destructive behaviors that arise from that struggle. These individuals choose not to identify as "gay" or "bisexual" in any way and in doing so, live dual lives, falling victim to self-hatred and other pathologies that often lead to disastrous consequences.
The title references the artificial exteriors we put on display to conform to the opinions and expectations of others and society at large. Du Façade looks to shed them through genuine, authentic, personal stories and to hopefully elevate the consciousness of both our society and the world.
There should be no closets.
